چکیده
Introduction: Health promoting properties which generated worldwide interest in germinated rough rice (GRR) and brown (GBR) are attributed largely by the bioactive compounds bran. Therefore, present study, antioxidant activities from gradient methanol ethanol solvents followed fractionations were evaluated. Methods: GRR GBR crude extracts successively obtained two concentrations of (80% 100%) (50% 70%). They further analyzed for 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), Trolox Equivalent Antioxidant Capacity (TEAC) Ferric Reducing Power (FRAP) assays. From potent extract dissolved water, they sequentially subjected to fractionation using with increasing polarity pattern, namely hexane fraction (HF), ethyl acetate (EAF) water fractions (WF ). Results: WF belonging both generally possessed better characteristics, demonstrated high TPC GBR; 101.9 ± 0.2 mg GAE/g GRR; 63.7 1.2 GAE/g. GRR-WF exhibited DPPH TEAC 63.68 TEA/g 80.30 respectively. 46.17 but ABTS EAF 71.60 TEA/g. Both showed FRAP values 45.31 19.68 Conclusion: Hence, it is proven that owing their possess potential benefits turn has increased competence as an emerging natural valuable health food.

Effect of Different Germination Conditions on Antioxidative Properties and Bioactive Compounds of Germinated Brown Rice
This study investigates antioxidative activity and bioactive compounds of ungerminated brown rice (UBR) and germinated brown rice (GBR). We used two rice cultivars (Oryza sativa L.), Taiwan Japonica 9 (TJ-9) and Taichung Indica 10 (TCI-10), as the materials in our experiments. The conditions for inducing germination are soaking time in water 24, 48, or 72 h; temperature 26 or 36°C; incubation i...
متن کاملAntioxidative and Neuroprotective Activities of the Pre-Germinated Brown Rice Extract
We evaluated the effects of pre-germinated brown rice extract (PGBR ex) with enhanced levels of GABA on proliferation and apoptosis of neuronal SK-N-SH cells line. Firstly, we used HPLC methods to study the level of γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in all rice extracts. We found that the concentration of GABA in the PGBR ex were 3 and 8 times higher than the GABA concentration in non-germinated brown...

Diet is an important variable in the course of type 2 diabetes, which has generated interest in dietary options like germinated brown rice (GBR) for effective management of the disease among rice-consuming populations. In vitro data and animal experiments show that GBR has potentials as a functional diet for managing this disease, and short-term clinical studies indicate encouraging results. Me...
متن کاملAntioxidative Effects of Germinated Brown Rice-Derived Extracts on H2O2-Induced Oxidative Stress in HepG2 Cells
The antioxidant properties of germinated brown rice (GBR) are likely mediated by multiple bioactives. To test this hypothesis, HepG2 cells pretreated with GBR extracts, rich in acylated steryl glycoside (ASG), gamma amino butyric acid GABA), phenolics or oryzanol, were incubated with hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and their hydroxyl radical (OH(•)) scavenging capacities and thiobarbituric acid-reacti...
متن کاملEffects of White Rice, Brown Rice and Germinated Brown Rice on Antioxidant Status of Type 2 Diabetic Rats
Oxidative stress is implicated in the pathogenesis of diabetic complications, and can be increased by diet like white rice (WR). Though brown rice (BR) and germinated brown rice (GBR) have high antioxidant potentials as a result of their bioactive compounds, reports of their effects on oxidative stress-related conditions such as type 2 diabetes are lacking. We hypothesized therefore that if BR ...
